How to Grow Leeks
The large Musselburgh leek is a biennial plant that is hardy in zones 4 to 9. It’s a cold-hardy vegetable, and seeds are easy to grow. After the risk of the last frost has passed, you can directly sow the seeds outdoors. The plants prefer full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. Sow the seeds 1/4 inch deep, 6″ inches apart, and separate rows 12″ apart.
