Are Pea Sprouts Safe to Eat Raw?
Pea sprouts and shoots are safe to eat raw, as long as you keep the jar clean and rinse twice a day. The warm, damp conditions that sprout a seed can also grow bacteria, so hygiene is the safety measure: start with certified seed, use a scrubbed jar, rinse on schedule, drain fully so water never pools, and refrigerate the moment they are done. How to Grow Peas from Seed
Peas are cool-season plants, so timing beats fussing — get them in early, give them something to climb, and they largely run themselves. Nearly everyone direct-sows peas because they resent transplanting, but a short indoor start is worth it in cold, wet springs; both routes are below.
Direct-Sowing Peas Outdoors
