Description
Olympia Spinach Seeds
Olympia is a hybrid spinach variety that has succulent oval, dark green leaves. This variety has a mild, delicious flavour. It is fast-growing (45 days), slow-bolting, making it an excellent choice for growing at home. Olympia is cold-hardy and does best when sown in the spring or late summer. It’s very resistant to downy mildew. Matures in 45 days; baby leaves can be harvested earlier.
How to Grow Spinach
Spinach grows well in full sun. The plants prefer rich soil that is moist and well-drained. Space the seeds 3 inches apart and in rows 12 inches apart. Sow seeds half an inch deep into the soil and lightly cover with compost. You can sow the seeds up to 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Water the plants moderately each week. Olympia spinach will mature in 40 days. It can be harvested earlier if you prefer “baby spinach.”
