Description
Red Russian Kale Seeds
Red Russian kale is full of flavour and produces tender sweet leaves. The plants can grow up to 3 feet tall. It’s cold-hardy and will mature in 65 days. Perfect for growing in Canada!
The leaves can be harvested at any stage, although it’s best not to harvest too much. After the leaves have experienced frost, the leaves will develop more red and purplish colours. Most importantly, the frost will make the leaves taste sweeter!
How to Grow Red Russian Kale
Kale should be started in a location with full sun. It prefers rich, loose, moist, and well-drained soil. When sowing the seeds, space them 4 inches apart and in rows 12 inches apart. Press the seeds into the soil and lightly cover them with compost. Plant 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost. Water the plants well each week. Red Russian kale will mature in 65 days.
