Roma tomato plants produce small, plum shaped tomatoes. The fruit has a meaty interior and few seeds. It’s a great tomato for making into a paste, for sauces, canning or freezing whole. Roma is a very prolific producer of tomatoes. Roma tomatoes are determinate plants. The tomatoes mature in approximately 75 days.

Although Roma tomatoes are quite easy to find at the grocery store the taste is so much better when homegrown, and even more so when grown among herbs, such as basil. Roma tomates are also very easy to grow, and because it’s a heavy producer it’s an easy way to save some money on the grocery bill and the share the surplus tomatoes with your friends and family.
