Strawberries Prefer moist, fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6 to 6.5 (slightly acidic). Surface sow them and keep them moist at all times; don’t let them dry out. If starting the seeds outdoors you can lightly cover them with soil.
The best time to sow is in the spring outdoors, or any time indoors and then transplant the seedlings outside after they have at least two sets of leaves. For best germination results start the seeds indoors with sterilized garden soil; black earth/peat moss mixture. Keep soil moist at all times but never soggy. Transplant outside after risk of frost.
