Mung Beans
Mung beans are the most consumed sprouts in the world. They are very versatile and commonly used in Chinese dishes. The beans are large, crisp, and taste great! Mung bean sprouts taste great raw, but they are also great to cook with and used in stir-fries. Sprouting takes 2-5 days.
How to Sprout Mung Beans
To start, soak the beans in cool water for 8-12 hours. Be sure to stir the beans thoroughly to ensure all are equally wet. After 8-12 hours, rinse the beans and drain the water. Replace the water 2-3 times a day. Mung bean sprouts do not require any sunlight. The sprouts will be ready in 2-5 days. After harvesting, refrigerate any extra sprouts to keep them fresh.
