Coffee Chicory Seeds

Coffee chicory produces beautiful blue flowers. It also produces large roots which can be dug up in late fall or winter. The roots are often used as a coffee substitute or coffee additive. The roots are dried, roasted, and then ground to brew coffee. Chicory is caffeine free.

How to Grow Coffee Chicory

Chicory prefers full sun, and well-draining soil with a pH of 5.5 or higher. Seeds can be started indoors 4-5 weeks before the last frost, or directly sown outdoors after last frost. Sow seeds 1/4″ deep, and 12″ apart.
