Arugula is a popular Mediterranean leafy green. It has a spicy and bitter flavour, and it’s often found in popular salad mixes in North America.
How to Grow Arugula
It is straightforward to grow. The seeds can be directly sown into rows 3 inches apart and covered with no more than 1/2 inch of garden soil. It’s best to grow arugula in the colder months, such as spring, late summer, to early fall. The leaves will mature in 40 days.
How to Sprout Arugula
Arugula can also be used as highly nutritious sprouts! To get started, make sure you do not soak arugula seeds as they only require a light misting. Spread the seeds out evenly on a tray or paper towels and moisten lightly. Keep the seeds consistently moist, but never sitting in water.
The sprouts should be ready in approximately seven days, or when they are 2-4 inches tall.
