How to Grow White Soul Strawberries

It is a perennial plant and is hardy in zones 5 to 8. They can survive rather harsh winter. Strawberries require full sun for maximum strawberry production. Although the will grow in shade it can stunt the berry production; It’s recommended the plants have at least 8 hours of sun. Strawberries Prefer moist, fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6 to 6.5 (slightly acidic). The seeds are small, so just surface sow them and keep them moist at all times and don’t let them dry out. If starting the seeds outdoors you can lightly cover them with soil.

The best time to sow is in the spring outdoors, or any time indoors and then transplant the seedlings outside after they have at least two sets of leaves. For best germination results start the seeds indoors with sterilized garden soil; black earth/peat moss mixture. Keep soil moist at all times but never soggy. Transplant outside after risk of frost. Germination can take from 2 to 4 weeks.
